Week in Review

Sunday

J lost his playoff game. Sad but true. They are now in third place regardless of how they do tomorrow. He has been a good sport. I am proud of him for doing his best.

Monday

Started with J being sent home. There have been 8 people in his class with lice. The school nurse aid found what she thought were two nits on his nape but no actual lice and so he was sent home. I inspected his head and the rest of us and found nothing. We did the whole shampoo thing, vacuumed every in inch of the house, washed clothing and bedding, and bagged up all stuffed animals just in case. We also shaved both boys heads. We have never had a scare like this before which is pretty good considering our oldest is in 8th grade. Personally, I think they were wrong, but better safe than sorry.

Took exam II at school. Felt atomic bomb bad. Emailed teacher for grade.

Tuesday

Left me afraid of many things that because of HIPPA I cannot discuss. Still no response from teacher.

Wednesday

Fellow student got her grade and stated teacher reports all grades bad, the highest being an 82% ( a C in nursing school). Still no word on my test.

Thursday

Last clinical day at the hospital. Very busy day. Brought my amazing twinkie cake to share with the group. Teacher handed each of us a piece of paper with a classmate's name on it. We were instructed to write something positive about that person then pass it to the right. We were given our pro list and told to put it on the refrigerator. We spend most of our time in the nursing program identifying areas that need improvement and little time thinking about our strengths. We all admitted we were uncomfortable reading the list. Why are we unable to take pride in our strengths? Mine is on the refrigerator. I have forced myself to read it a few times.

Teacher emailed grade, 80%. Still one exam to go.

Friday

Told Dev he was going to miss the bus. He refused to listen stating he knew exactly when the bus would be there. I told him it could come early but he still did not listen. Moments after he left I heard a noise in the garage. When I openned the door, I saw Dev lowering his bike because he missed the bus.

Shopping at Target. Bought 5 enormous bags and 3 small ones of Halloween candy, clock for living room, and organizers.

Tore apart the upstairs closet. Put organizer to use to keep things in place in the closet, bathroom, and in Dev's room. Still need more but it's a start.

Retouched hair color the lovely shade of intense auburn. Happy hair didn't fall out. Really not fond of the Brittney/Sinead look.

Got a call from David that his truck broke down. Our friends who do work on our boat and cars picked him up, brought him home, and fixed his van that day. They are awesome. We are very lucky. I want to say it was the drive shaft. It was fortunate he broke down because it was about to fall off.

Saturday

The last football practice. Study for final exam. No Irish football.
