Texting

I was reminded of just how old and out of the loop I truly am recently when my friend was talking about how he has been texting back and forth with a girl he likes and another told me who she had texted last, then asked who I texted. I do not text, I type on the computer.

I guess I understand why it is popular. You can't call someone while they are in class or in a meeting and immediately convey your message, but you can text them. It does seem more efficient than voicemail or even e-mail when it comes to urgency.

But urgency does not seem to be the issue. No, I think it is instant gratification in the simpliest form. That is what society demands these days.
